A look at the term "homesteading"
In my world there are two types of homesteading. The most common type is the state of Florida's $25,000 exemption applied to the first $50,000 of your property's assessed value if your property is your permanent residence and you owned the property on January 1 of the tax year.
Find more info here Bay County Homestead Exemption or Washington County Florida Homestead Exemption. You can also check with your county appraiser's office website.
